807 E. 175th St. was the third studio the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, built in 1913. It was one of the largest studios of the early silent era. The stars included the pioneering director D.W. Griffith, and box office giants Mary Pickford, Lionel Barrymore, and Lillian Gish.
Griffith eventually moved his unit to the west coast and left the company.
